The Stone Giants of Faunas differ greatly from the Stone Giant’s in classsic DND lore. Stone Giants live for extremely long time, are extremely wise, but deeply isolated. Stone Giants have a unique relationship with Faunas, in that they can “hear her” and “speak with her”. Though cryptic, Stone Giant’s are able to receive visions of what has transpired through the earth itself. Many of these Stone Giants are Lorekeepers. The Lorekeepers are tasked with recording the history of Faunas. Deep in Octon, there is Glyphe, a settlement of Giant-folk and home of the Halls of Eternities. Here the Lorekeepers carve the history in Faunas into “flesh of Faunas herself”. The lorekeepers are divided into three distinct roles;

• Carvers: Those tasked with carving the history of Faunas into her flesh. Carver will receive earth from the Faunas by Wanderers which they then read and transcribe onto large stone slabs within the Halls of Eternites.
• Wanderers: Are tasked with wandering the lands in search of history to be recorded. Wanderers speak to the earth to capture events that have transpired, collecting the earth and bringing it back to Carvers.
• Speakers: Are tasked with the study, upkeep, and inquiries into the knowledge in the Hall of eternities. They are the most advanced role in the Lorekeepers, and act as the leaders.

Lorekeepers believe their work was tasked by Asgorath when the first Stone Giants walked these lands. Some of these original Stone Giants still exist to this day, but their whereabouts are a mystery.
